Creativity

For their Architecture Learning Log, Grade 5 students selected a building or structure that best represents who they are. They explained how their personalities are reflected in and connected to their chosen building. Through this creative inquiry, students learned about famous buildings from around the world while also gaining a deeper understanding of themselves as learners and individuals!

In Humanities, Grade 6 students explored the origins of Rome through the legend of Romulus and Remus. They brought the story to life by reenacting it in small groups and performing for their classmates. As a creative follow-up, each student designed a comic strip version of the story. Before the winter break, the Kindergarten to Grade 4 students learned about La Fête des Lumières in Lyon. They created and sold beautiful Lumignons candle holders to raise money for charity. Together, they raised 170 euros and decided to donate the funds to L’Hirondelle, a local organization that helps care for injured wild animals. Well done to everyone involved!

Our Reading Buddies have been busy creating amazing Christmas decorations for our Library! This year they made ornaments using recycled pages from old, damaged books and some cardboard. Recently, our Senior Kindergarten class enjoyed a fun and creative workshop with the Kapla team. The students spent time exploring the blocks and working together to create towers, castle walls, and even some cool cannons. It was a hands-on morning full of creativity, cooperation, and happy builders, with only a few collapsed constructions along the way!

The PTA Craft Club, inspired by Mme Marie’s vision, created colourful Grammar felt dolls for donation to our classrooms. Grade 2 students enjoyed meeting the “Common Noun” and “Proper Noun” dolls, using them in a playful sorting activity that brought grammar learning to life.
