The International School of Lyon is delighted to welcome The Brown Derbies, the acclaimed acapella ensemble from Brown University, for a special visit on 16 January 2026 as part of their European tour. Known for their energetic performances, rich tenor through bass harmonies, and a repertoire spanning from 80s favourites to modern pop, the Derbies have shared their vibrant style with audiences around the world.
During their visit, the group will lead a vocal workshop for keen singers from Grades 4 to 12, focusing on vocal and performance technique. Participants will even have the chance to join the Derbies on stage for one song at the end of the concert. All students from Grades 1 to 12 will be invited to enjoy the concert in the assembly hall, which promises to be a joyful celebration of music and community.
To round off the visit, the Derbies will host a Q&A session about life at Brown University and the experience of applying to highly selective universities. This session will be open to high school students and parents. We are thrilled to offer such a rich and inspiring opportunity for our learners as we continue Building Our Best Selves.
