To begin their new Unit of Inquiry ‘When Art Speaks’, under the transdisciplinary theme ‘How We Express Ourselves’, Grade 3 and 4 students took a trip to the Théâtre L’île Ô, situated on the Rhône River in Lyon.
The show ‘Lumières’ introduced students to the Lumière brothers, Auguste and Louis Lumière, highlighting the transition between photography and film and the invention of their cinematograph.
Inspiration from this experience will be drawn into a collaborative art and music project, where our young inquirers will explore how art communicates ideas and emotions through creative expression.
