As part of our unit of inquiry on food production and Earth’s resources, the kindergarten students were engaged in a hands-on provocation to explore the concepts of trash, residues, and recycling. They were presented with a tray full of rubbish, which sparked curiosity and questions about waste and its impact on the environment.
After carefully cleaning the items, the students sorted the trash into the correct recycling bins, discussing where each item truly belongs. Inspired to take action, they decided to create awareness posters to help the whole school community learn about proper recycling and the importance of reducing litter.
What a great initiative, JK!
