Grade 5 Students Make Newspaper

In our previous unit of inquiry, How We Express Ourselves, Grade 5 learned about how media affects our lives. We studied different types of media, the history of media and how it has changed over time. We invited a journalist to come and speak about how newspapers and magazines are created. Inspired by this presentation, we went off to research and write our own newspaper articles. In our ICT lessons we learned how to use tables to organize our pages. We worked on our research skills by taking notes on what we learned from reading articles online and doing interviews. We developed our social and communication skills by conducting interviews and sharing information with our classmates. We’re proud of what we created, and hope you enjoy reading our articles below!
