On Friday 16 January, ISL welcomed the Brown University Derbies for a special visit that brought together both Primary and Secondary students. The group performed an engaging a cappella concert for the whole school, giving students the opportunity to experience live music and a range of performance styles and techniques up close.
Earlier in the day, a smaller group of students took part in a vocal workshop where they explored ensemble singing techniques and learned more about a cappella repertoire. The highlight came when these students were invited to join the Brown Derbies on stage to perform the final song together, a memorable moment that helped build confidence in performing.
The visit supported learning in music by deepening studentsβ understanding of vocal technique, collaboration, and performance, while also inspiring them through the shared joy of making music together.
A big thank you to the Brown Derbies for sharing their talent and energy with our community, and to Ms. Vasset for organizing such an amazing opportunity.
