Plans for our annual Model United Nations conference, ILYMUN, to be held in March, are well underway. The conference is unique in that it is organized by students of ISL and our neighbor-school across the river, the Cité Scolaire Internationale de Lyon (CSI).
The three ISL students on the ILYMUN Executive Board publicized the conference at ISL’s Welcome Evening in mid-September, raising awareness of the need for financial sponsorship and host families for participating students from various cities in France and across Europe.
In mid-October, 80 dedicated students from ISL and CSI spent a Saturday working together in the various ILYMUN Organizing Teams (press, social, housing, chairs, etc.) to continue preparations for the conference. The conference management offers students authentic opportunities to practice skills in communication, organization, and leadership, reflecting their growth as globally minded learners.
