History students from Grades 10 and 11 recently had the opportunity to visit a city at the crossroads of history: Prague. Prague has changed hands several times throughout history and links in many ways with our History programme, in particular with the Treaty of Versailles, the Holocaust, and the Cold War.
Students visited Prague Castle, Terezin concentration camp (where Gavrilo Princip was also interned), the Jewish Quarter, the Army Museum, and a nuclear bunker (a highlight according to the students!). They also enjoyed lighter activities such as a boat ride on the river and a climb up the astronomical clock tower.
A fantastic time was had by all, and they returned full of motivation for the rest of their school year.
