Learning at ISL

The ISL curriculum is based on the programmes and pedagogy of the International Baccalaureate Organisation (ibo.org). Through the IBO’s academic programmes and Learner Profile, ISL aims to develop in its students the values, skills and knowledge that will help them become active and responsible citizens in an increasingly interconnected world. These include collaboration, critical thinking, creativity and communication skills.

The diversity and flexibility of the pedagogical approaches respect the children as active contributors to and participants in the learning process. The school is fully authorized to deliver the IB Diploma Programme and the IB Primary Years Programme, is an accredited centre for Cambridge International Examinations (cie.org.uk) and is a member of the European Council of International Schools (ecis.org) and the English Language School Association (elsa-france.org)

Classes in ISL range from Pre-Kindergarten to High School, and we welcome children from age 3 upwards. Admission is based on school records, evaluation and, where appropriate an interview or test. The school offers ‘English for Speakers of Other Languages’ support but a sufficient command of English is required for entry into the secondary school.

Numerous extra-curricular activities (lunchtimes and after school) are available (See Field Trips and Activities)
