Gimnaziu

The Middle School curriculum at ISL (Grades 6–8) offers a comprehensive program that balances in-depth study of individual subjects with the holistic, student-centered approach of the International Baccalaureate (IB) philosophy. Our vision, “Building Our Best Selves,” drives this commitment.

Students in Middle School study a broad range of subjects to foster critical thinking, creativity, and personal growth. These include:

• English and French as a native or first language (including literature),
• French, Spanish, or English as an additional language for non-native speakers,

Additional language courses are also available at extra cost, provided there is sufficient demand.

Student progress is assessed regularly against criteria tied to course objectives. This process guides teaching and learning throughout the year, with homework reinforcing key concepts. Achievements are demonstrated through ongoing evaluations and end-of-year exams, ensuring students are well-prepared for future challenges.

Beyond academics, Middle School students enjoy a vibrant extracurricular program, including sports, clubs, and community service opportunities. These activities support personal development, teamwork, and well-being.

Our program emphasizes a balance between academic rigor and creative exploration, with a strong focus on helping students become well-rounded, independent thinkers.
