In English lessons, the Grade 8 students have been studying the novel ຟາມລ້ຽງສັດ, in which farm animals revolt against the tyranny of their human masters. Although the rebellion is a success, the freedom and equality the farm animals fought for are never realized. Instead, the pigs seize power through fear and manipulation and the farm animals end up living under the control of a tyrannical pig dictator. In one set of lessons, the students explored the power of propaganda and created “Pig Propaganda” posters.
