International School of LyonParent Teacher Association International Day Dec 09 'Les Halles' January 10 School fête buffet June 10
INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF LYON Parent Teacher Association 2009/2010 The Parent Teacher Association welcomes all ISL families - those who have been at school before and our new students and their families. Our aims are: (i) to promote and facilitate home, community and school integration and provide support to parents and staff members (ii) to support school goals through volunteer service, fund-raising activities and enhanced educational opportunities for students (iii) to provide a channel of communication between parents and the school through a forum for discussion of important issues and, where appropriate, inform the school administration and board of the opinions of the members of the association. The PTA is set up and run according to its constitution (click on link below to consult) PTA constitution We organize many social events like dinners, lunches, museum visits and a large school fête, but also publish the ISL yearbook and welcome booklet, to name just a few of our activities. While we have fun together, we also raise funds that will be invested in extra facilities for our children such as equipment for outdoor play and extra curricular activities. All parents and guardians of students enrolled at the ISL are Active Members of the PTA as the PTA membership fee is included in the ISL tuition fees. The PTA executive board (2 chairs, 1 vice-chair, treasurer and secretary), together with a number of committees, looks forward to supporting ISL staff in creating a safe and challenging learning environment for our children, as well as helping parents/families with integration into our school community and life in France. More information about the PTA Executive Board, the Committees and its activities can be found through the menu on the left side of this page. More regular dates (like PTA meetings or social events) will be announced throughout the year - keep checking and asking! Please also check the PTA message board (entrance hall, left wall) and this PTA website, including the Calendar and Events page for news of upcoming activities and reports and photos from recent events. N.B. As of the school year 2009-10, membership of the PTA is included in your school fees and each child will receive a copy of the Yearbook. Extra copies can be ordered and paid for separately. |
